Major: Health Science

I am a 5^th year health science major on the pre-PA track. I currently work in an intermediate post-operative floor at Brigham and Women’s as a Patient Care Associate. I often work with patients who are recovering after various surgeries, such as kidney or lung translants, bladder removals, and different types of cancers. Often times, these patients speak Spanish, and I have been able to utilize my skills at work. After taking the Advanced Spanish for Healthcare Professionals I course, with Profe Sokol,  I feel confident asking health related questions and in my anatomical terms in Spanish. Additionally, after I graduate I am taking a gap year while I apply to PA school. This upcoming July, I am joining Professor Claudia Sokol as a program assistant to Argentina on a language and culture dialogue. I look forward to continuing my Spanish language skills in Argentina, and then throughout my healthcare experience as a Physician Assistant.
